One Child at a Time

One of the most frustrating, heart-breaking experiences for a parent is watching their bright, beautiful child wrestle with essential life skills.

You know they’re brilliant, but struggling in school. Their reading and spelling are suffering, and getting them to school is becoming a fight. Every morning send off feels like a battle and every night, doing homework around the dinner table, feels like a war zone. Then you get the dreaded letter from the teacher… Saying your child needs extra help. These daily experiences are draining, frustrating, and disheartening, but you are in the right place. There is hope. There is a future.

A fulfilling education with dyslexia is possible!

There are myths about dyslexia in our culture. These harmful tales say that people with dyslexia see numbers or letters backward or that they’re less intelligent. This could not be farther from the truth!

Dyslexia is a learning disability, but not a disease or disorder. It is not related to intelligence: it merely means there is a different brain structure which can make reading and spelling more difficult to learn. Research shows it is often inherited and affects up to 20% of the population. There are millions of children living in the United States with dyslexia.

You are not alone and there are tools to help you.

What Does Dyslexia Look Like?

What Is Dyslexia Tutoring?

Dyslexia tutoring requires a different, more immersive approach than typical tutoring. I specifically use the Barton Reading & Spelling System, which is rooted in evidence and research.

Who Am I?

My name is Ann! Nice to meet you! I am the mother of 6, a speech and language pathologist, elementary school teacher, and, now, a specialist in dyslexia tutoring. I began this path after discovering my oldest child had dyslexia, and realizing how few resources existed at the time.
